Trashed BB

Fall time of year--pull out the cross/gravel bike. Used as the rain bike for many rides this spring/summer and apparently the seals on Campy ultra-torque bottom brackets suck, because this thing is trashed...barely spins. Too hot to work in the garage (still, in October...in Atlanta) so spare bedroom has become makeshift shop...complete with A/C...and a bed for mid-repair naps. Don't ask about the hammer. Sometimes you need a fucking hammer.

Crank pulled...cups stay in. Carpet still clean (small success).

Bearings on drive side...jumpin jesus...that's a few years of single track, cyclocross and gravel road dirt in there. And a big brown booger.

Bearings ordered from some place in Europe. 2 week delivery time..ahhh, Campagnolo. Faster on Amazon but cheaper overseas. Daily tracking number stalking begins today.

Mid-project pile-o-shit...will stay this way for a while.

Friend Mike O. has the bearing puller & press tools that are specific to Campy, so will pack this crap up and head to his place with a six pack in a couple weeks. For now, don't go into the spare bedroom without degreaser.
